First Post
Every blog starts with the inevitable first post. This blog has two purposes, firstly, to document my process and development. The second is to sell art. I feel that whilst making art is fun, showing and selling my art forces me to improve and engage with an audience. I realise that my family see this as a, sometimes expensive hobby, but I have re-found a passion that I had as a child and is now allowing me to create and evolve as a person.
As I come to the end of my sabbatical, I have been able to finally focus on where I will be taking my art in the future. This has been an extraordinary experience and has enabled me to develop my style and some new techniques. When I revisit early sketchbooks now, I can see how my lines have become bolder and more confident. I have abandoned pencil for pen and from this have stopped erasing. Living with the line and moving on. My art will evolve and I intend adding jewellery to the work. I will have to sell some pictures, but was inspired by enamel work that I saw at a recent Maker Fair and is something to look forward to in the future.
I am sure that my family may read this and I thank them for their patience and love.
